No Time for Christmas

We worked diligently to introduce the boy to the applicable concepts: christmas trees, santa claus, sleigh, bag of toys, reindeer, chimney. He even had a Playmobil nativity scene, which he cleared out daily to make room for his train engines.

What I now realize is that neither "Twas the Night Before Christmas" nor his other Christmas-themed books actually get to the part where the children open the gifts in the morning.

Hence, this developmentally appropriate response.

So how long did it finally take before he went to look?

And what was his final verdict... worth the time, or back to the keys?

Eventually we gave up and hinted at what Santa had brought for him: the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Mountain Overpass, plus Bertie the Bus and Trevor the Traction Engine.

Which ultimately was such a hit that here it is the 3rd day of Christmas and he still hasn't opened all of his non-Santa presents yet.
