I say "vlog". But that isn't why I'm commenting. I'm commenting cause I thought this was a great video. Vlog, Videoblog, VOD, Blog with video, no matter what I call it I still seem to need to explain it to people. It is fun to be part of this whatever we call it.
"vlog" has the same phoneme/multiple phoneme problem.
Screw the con, screw the nascent community of pioneers. You have a branding problem.
Solution: you need an alternative brand, of course, to co-opt the movement.
Get a few like-minded individuals, pull 'em aside at the con, and pick a day to launch the new term. If there's one thing the blogging community likes more than jumping on someone's bandwagon, I'd wager its contreversy!

So where'd you come up with the cutaway on the asides?
It works beautifully.
Jake Johanssen can pull off an aside within an aside within an aside--all in real time. And that is how I'm starting to develop these; while I'm driving.
But this way I can do multiple takes of each little bit and combine the least sucky ones. Plus the content can remain discursive while the pace barrels rapidly ahead. Any ideas that fall flat are over quickly, and we're on to the next one.
In that I suppose I'm inspired by "Ask a Ninja".
it took us less than three seconds to rip off bloggercon and name ours vloggercon. the first one was organized in less than three weeks back in Jan of 05. so if you want, take it and make it your own, call it something else and organize away. nice vid!
Well, I'm glad you went, discomfort with terms or otherwise. Meeting you was a highlight of the weekend, Chris. Rock on.
